The cat in the top picture loks to me like a mountain lion or a cougar?
what ever kind of cat they are, it is a good looking cat!

Summer phase Bobcat. Going by shape of head, markings on legs and shape and color of tail. (even by size, guessimating the size of the plants)

Oh, BTW
Cougar andMountain Lionare the same thing.

yeah I was gunna say, after reading some of the other guys' posts, that cougar, mountain lion, puma, panther, are all the same thing

Looks like a bobcat to me - tail's way too short on both cats - maybe Lynx but never seen one with that coloration - I have seen bobcats that color - does look a lot like a mt lion it would be easy to confuse them if you don't know what to look for - it's hard from a pic sometimes.

I would go with Bobcat. The ears tail and spots all point to Bobcat for me. Nice pictures though.

i get scared when i see people mistake bobcats for cougars, because if they can confuse the two, then cows arent safe during deer season......
