RE: Anyone airgun hunt?
All the time. I shoot rabbits, squirrels, blackbirds, starlings, and any other pests in my backyard. I actually went rabbit hunting one time and walked some railroad tracks and came back with 6 rabbits in about an hour and gave them to my Grandpa. I have a RWS .177 and I shoot Beeman crow magnum pellets. I can drop a squirrel at 40 yds out of a tree and with a good head shot he is dead before he hits the ground. I kept track one year and I shot 74 squirrels out of my yd between september and end of january. I have 2 walnut trees in my yd. Pellet guns rock. By the way I live in TOWN.

I got an RWS model 48 in .177 for myself for Christmas. What an awesome gun. I shoot Crosman Premier Heavys out of it and it hits hard. We're getting lots of ground squirrels out where I live and they keep digging up the roots of the trees I planted last year. I think it's accurate enough for head-shots out to 40 yards. I wish I would've got it in .22

Hunting is illegal with airguns here in Pennsylvania, but we have some fun around the yard with pest in the garden mostly groundhogs at close range out of the window. Sure can be fun, but thegroundhogs always seem to chew all me cucumbers and zuchinnies when I'm not around no matter how many I kill.

Don't currently have a good pellet air gun but I used to. Excellent way to dump pests! Now, I heard from many (but years ago) that the 177 penetrated better than the .22's. Would love to hear if that is the current impression.
