I run myFoxPro for 15-20 seconds, wait a few minutes, then repeat. Predators' ears are quick, and if they are within range, they will hear. At night, however, I usually just use mouth calls because it's easier.

I keep the light running frequently, although high enough to just barely catch eyes reflecting. When things start happening, they start happening real fast, and you don't want something to come in and leave in between times you have the light on.

Make sure you get a positive I.D. on the critter before you're about to shoot. Use binoculars if you've got them. When the critter comes in range, hit it with enough light you can get an I.D., then make the decision on whether or not you should take the shot. If you can't get a positive I.D., try to call it infurther or let itwalk. I've lost cattle to people that shoot when they see eyes, and it's not a pleasant experience for anyone involved.
