Squirrel Hunt in Mississippi
The season finally opened Saturday. I managed to kill 7 greys on my property near Vicksburg. Good still morning although a tad warm. Looks like Sunday will be windy. I probably will not go. Never had much luck in the wind. I would have got the limit of 8 if I would have shot better. Still a lot of leaves on the trees. I was using an old H&R 20 gauge single shot full choke. Model 58 Topper. Super X HB 6's. I have killed more than 700 squirrels with this gun. I hope you all had good luck. Will break out the 22 when the leaves thin out a bit.

Hey Larry!!!! Thats a big mistake not going out on a windy day. There will be just as many out on a windy day as on a non windy day. And never pass up a light rain. There out too. When it's windy, they usually tend to be a little more cautious. Because they cant here to well, predators etc....So just stick around, they will be out guaranteed. Good job on the squirrels.
