Default setting up a yote bait

I have just recieved 4 deer hides and a load of meat scraps for yote bait. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how I should place my bait.

I live in maine and its holding a nice temperature in the 30's as a high. What would everyone reccomend for use of bait. I have an unlimited amount of meat scraps for bait.

Thanks ahead of time.

Default RE: setting up a yote bait

Placement shouldn't be very critical, put it out where you can see it from a comforatble shooting range, and be able to get to that range from downwind and unseen. Your meat scrapes will work fine, put 50#'s or so out and then check it in a couple of days, if it is or isn't found and gone, add some more to it. The trick will be to condition the coyotes to keep coming back to that same spot, so you'll need to keep up with thier consumtion, or they won't be patternable. In other words, once they find the source of food, and if you can keep food there, they will make a habit of coming to that spot, but if they eat it all and you don't replinish it quickly, they will likely not come to it on a regular basis!
