what do you want to do with them?
if you just want to have them dry, you can, take two nails or penciles and put one on each side of the tail at the body stick the tail between you fingers and grip the nails and pull toward the tail tip,the bone will slip right out. then drying will be OK. no need to do anything, there is not much left in the tail. if you want you can pour the tail full of sail and let set for a few days, then pour excess out.

Do as mentioned above, except also slit the tail down the middle lengthwise to avoid rotting. Pour some salt on the tail, and after a few days wipe away the excess salt and pour on 20 mule team borax. After a letting it set a week you should be good to go.
