If your handi cam is in mini-dv format (which I'm sure it is) it will have a IEEE 1394 port or firewire port on the camera (sometimes labeled on the camera as a DV port) get yourself a quality...

Just a word of advice when capturing footage............always better to use 1394 IEE firewire than USB 2.0..........firewire is slightly faster and you will never get dropouts as long as your deck...

I think what they are afraid of is someone else taking "exclusive" rights to thier footage, which basically means they can never use thier footage again............I would think for what you are...

I don't think Dave does his own editing............all you need is a DVD copy software to duplicate copies, unless you're gonna go main stream and expect to sell alot of copies.
