RE: Sound of Impact

Interesting post, buckmarlin. Got me thinking about deer I' ve shot in the past. Now I know a whole bunch of guys will offer conflicting experiences, but I can' t recall a hit deer EVER snorting...

RE: backstraps vs. tenderloin

I prefer to remove the tenderloins when I' m field dressing the deer. In any case, they must be removed as quickly as possible since, unlike the rest of the meat, they are exposed to the air and...

RE: Full moon(deer movement), and the rut(for ohio guys)

RE: Lost a nice one.

A few years ago (well, more than a few, I suppose) I took a six point with a pretty ridiculous shot. Had watched the buck moving around my stand for the better part of 15 minutes. Came to draw...

RE: What' s Your Range?

RE: Spitfire Problems

Atlasman, you could not be more correct. And I truly regret both my son' s and my experience. I don' t know how to calculate kinetic energy but would like to learn. Don' t know the grain weight of...

Spitfire Problems

I started using NAP Spitfires last year. Took a nice doe, but was kind of unimpressed with the penetration. My son Steve put a good hit on another doe using the Spitfire, but did not appear to get...
