Dan Quillian self bow kit. Any good?

I saw this longbow kit by Dan Quillian and was wondering if anyone has seen or tried one. Looks like it would be good to just knock around with or keep at the office to pull back on to keep in shape...

Yet another NEWBIE question; Longbow vs Recurve?

What are the major differences between recurves & longbows? Are longbows slower? I had heard that longbows had more handshock? Is this also true?

It seems that the 1953 date on the bow is the date the recurve limb design went into place. The bow could have been made between 57-70. In any case the bow is in excellant condition but I still need...

I looked at an old Bear bow I keep in my workshop and found the following info on it.
Its a 1953 Bear Polar, AMO 66", 45#.
Can anyone tell me more about the bow? What type of string I should use?...
