Ok, thanks for those suggestions. I'll get one of those as soon as I can, if I find I really need a scope on my 30-30. Which I may not, but I'm not sure.

Well, I won't be able to get one right away, but I'll be willing to pay $200 for a good scope. So... yeah. That's my limit for a 30-30, price wise.

Well, from what I've seen $500-$575 is the normal. At least, if we're talking brand new. I don't know about used ones. And I'm sure you can go cheaper then that.;)

However, I would consider using one if I used LeverEvolution ammo. But that's about the only time I'd put one on a 30-30.

I have a 4X32 Simmons scope that I use on my .22s. Do you think that will hold up well on a 30-30?

Just wondering what you're thoughts are on the Marlin model 336W 30-30. Is it a good rifle to start out deer hunting with, if all shots are made under 100 yards? We live on wooded land...
