Default Best scope for a 30-30?

What would you recommend for a 30-30? I mean... what brand is a good one, and what power for a 30-30?

Thanks guys.

Put my nikon 2-7x33 I think on mine, great range for that gun IMO, looks great too, was on my .270, just not enough scope for me, so replaced that and took off my 4x fixed and put the 2-7 nikon on there.

I wouldn't go over 9x, i'd choose 1.5-4.5, or 2-7 probably, though 3-9x isn't outta the question, but if you're doing under 200yds, i'd stick to either of the first 2.

I'm not a fan of fixed powered scopes, but I'm sure some guys will suggest a fixed.....

I would recommend a very small 1-4x32 scope for a .30-30 (should you decide to put one one). I had a fixed 4x32 old Glenfield scope on mine, but I ended up taking it off. To me, it just looks better without a scope - but then again, that's just me. I know guys who put these monster 4-12x40AO scopes on their leverguns, and, well, it looks a little ridiculous.

A 1-4x32 Nikon or Bushnell on a real low weaver base is great for a .30-30.

Hmm... thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll take them into consideration.

I have a 4X32 Simmons scope that I use on my .22s. Do you think that will hold up well on a 30-30?

Too true.

However, I would consider using one if I used LeverEvolution ammo. But that's about the only time I'd put one on a 30-30.

I'd put a 4X on it and break out the LeverEvolutions. Great pair!

I would look at a low power variable such as a 1.5-4 or 1.5-6 ... something like that. A compact 1.5x4-40mm would do great. As for brand? In my opinion, Leupold Vari-X III and Zeiss Conquest lines are good scopes at reasonable prices.

There are many scopes out there that would get the job done. Leupy's are good but cost / value may be over rated. YOU must decide what quality YOU want and how much YOU are willing to pay for it.

Well, I won't be able to get one right away, but I'll be willing to pay $200 for a good scope. So... yeah. That's my limit for a 30-30, price wise.
