Default 42mm Obj. and low rings on Ruger Amer.

Got a Ruger American rifle and a Sightron 42mm objective lens. With the mounting bases that come on the Ruger (picatinny) will the Warne Low mounts work or do I need medium? Reason I ask is because the picatinny bases that come with the rifle look like they add a few extra mm to the scope height.

These are the rings I am talking about.

Unless someone with the same setup comes on amd tells you yes, you are really just guessing. If they are too low and you can't return them, I wouldn't buy them just on a guess. I feel it's best to go to a shop with your gun and that way you can definitely get what you need in one try even if it costs a little more to do it.

Im hoping someone who has tried this could chime in, but the odds aren't that great I guess.

As long as your scope has a 1" tube, it's worth trying.

Just might be a perfect fit.

Warne rings and bases are well made.

In order to have clearance (for the uplifting bolt and not just the scope bell) you may need the mediums. BTW, Warne's are good, solid mounts. Good choice.

The Ruger American is a 70 degree bolt design, so low mounts shouldn't be a problem with bolt clearance. The Warne rings are a bit heavy, but rock solid - good choice.
