Homehearterman,

When you use $1,000 as the ceiling, you are aware those Vortex scopes are $200-$300.

That said, there is a lot of room from there, upward to $1,000 in terms of quality scopes.

Just want to know that you are not saying they are in the same class (as $800-$1,000) ?

"........In it's price range........"($200-$300): NO PROBLEM

JD, it sure was nice of the little lady to buy you a new scope. That's never happened in my house. You have a keeper.

They are quite a bit better than several scopes in the 7-900 price range. Now not better than all of them, but better than quite a few. This is just my opinion of course. They are way better than anything in their price range.

To the OP -
It is good to read a post that has such a happy topic. Did your wife pick out the scope on her own, or did you drop a few hints?

Throughout the first part of this thread I was thinking you were lucky she got a scope you wanted, then you mentioned the specific hint. I think my wife finally got the message that I want to pick out specifically what I need/want for hunting after 35 years. Was the reticle right?
