im sportin a mil dot black diamond edition burris, it is great for fast and accurate shots, the mil letting you go from 25 yards to 500 just like that, even has windage mil, if your any good at guessin what the wind is doin at 500 yards.

Sounds like you did me one better Halfbaked....................with the Black Diamond line.

Exception for me; I use the mil dot reticle 6X-24X 44MM (signature select) on my .204 for any long range small "live" targets.

As much as I like my Leupold 2.5-8 my 1-4 might be the better choice overall as the area's I hunt are mostly heavy cover and it's wider FOV is better in that stuff.

I have a Tasco 3-9X32mm wideview that I bought new in 1976. I have it on a Remington 700 BDL 30-06 that I bought new at the same time. To this day it still works great. The only adjusting that it ever needed was a couple of clicks here and there when I changed ammo, it never lost it's zero or clarity in the 34 years that I've had it. My new favorite is a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7X32mm that I put on my Marlin 336ss. I know that the trend has been larger optics and I agree that on small targets at long distances they're beneficial. On a deer sized target though the 32mm works just fine and they'll easily see a deer well past legal shooting hours.
