Default Kayak Fishing

I went on a 5 day long range trip a few years back out of San Diego on the polaris supreme. www.polarissupreme.com

Awesome trip. I had to give up one night because after 8 solid hours fighting fish at night coming off 8 hours during the day spending 3 hours hooked up. I want to go back. However, this week featured in the USAirways mag was kayak saltwater fishing. This place featured fishing off the South Bajain Mexico. They say they have been known to catch Marlin, Sail Fish and Tuna. They do it with 20# test (we were catching 70# tuna on 20# on the long range) and the line won't break because your anchored to the Kayak. Anyway, I was planning on taking my 10 (soon to be 11) on the long range but now I'm looking at the Kayak trip. Anyone else been out on one of these trips or know of another area that features this type of fishing?

I have friends that yakfish on this side of the world.they catch everything up to 6' sharks, and they use the same line as what is commonly used on our pier...20 #, it doesn't break when you catch a 40# king mackeral because you have the drag set right and the fish eventualy gets tired.

Just bought two beginner Kayaks for my son and I. We went for Beginners white water for now instead of ocean ones. Though we would get my use out of them. However, we do plan on taking the trip to Baja and try out this fishing. I hope next year. If not then, I do plan on taking the family to New Zealand and will look into it there.
