We dont have any yellowfin up here yet. However, they are starting to get some schoolie bluefins at the 28 mile wreck out of Barnegat NJ.

I live down in Texas and do a little fishing for tuna. We have to go a looooong way 70 miles to get out into good yellowfin action. Ive only caught blackfin. We just pull up behind an anchored shrimper about 40 miles out and chunk some sardines over. You never know what your gonna get, wahoo, chicken dolphin, snapper, and amber jack. However we did a fishing charter out of ocean city maryland and we caught the hell out of the bluefin. If any of yall are familiar with an area called the jackspot which is around 40 miles off of ocean city. We caught 42 bluefin tuna, most of which were aound 20 pounds. Could only keep 2. The biggest was around 45 pounds. It was a fun trip.

By the way that contender is badassssss.

We go out of Ocean City each year. 14 Aug. is the date this year. We usually hook up w/ YF and BF tuna. Sometimes we scrap the tuna fishing for a day of dolphin chunking. Will post pics as soon as we get back.

Gotta love offshore fishing. Lots of white marlin being caught and released in OCMD. Jackspot, hot dog, sausgages.. All good spots out of OCMD.

Bluefin regs now state you can keep 3 if you are on a chartered vessel.
