I have found that my best accuracy has come with max loads seated close to the lands. My .223, 7x57, 30-06, and 300 WSM all shoot better at the max load. The .223 likes H335 and the rest like IMR 4350 the best. The quality of your trigger is also a big part of accuracy. I like a 1.5-2 pound trigger for my .223 and a 3 pound for my big game rifles. a heavy trigger will decrease accuracy.
Good luck with your rifle.

I am mainly a hunter. Most of my other shooting is just tryin to get better for hunting. I will be loading 7-08 and .270 mainly. With a few .243, 30-06 and maybe some 7mag. I dont like shooting the 7mag enough to reload too much for it....lol.

The 270 being a standard length action saami spec col of 3.34" you should probably be able to seat out to about 3.37" depending on your magazine I get 3.37" with my FN mauser in 30-06. The 7mm-08 may not give that much extra room in the magazine being a short action. I get very good accuracy with some bullets seating to the crimp ring and other bullets like being seated further out. That's the fun in handloading, you get to burn powder finding out what works.
