8mm Mauser and .30-06 and Unique.

Thanks for that tip with 2400 and the .30-06, I just checked out the website, looks like I could get about 2 times as much powder, or a little more as compared to other powders.

Yes, downloading is dangerous, as is reloading period. Downloading certain powders can become extremely dangerous, especially with slower burning powders that are specifically designed for rifles and nothing else. For example, loading something like IMR4350, H4831, Rotumbo, or something of the sort, in very small amounts would be quite dangerous. Conversely, loading small doses of Unique, amounts the powder was designed for, is perfectly safe, in most cases. I do not have any specific information regarding loading Unique in these calibers with Jacketed bullets. I am sure it is out there, but I have not found it, so I am asking for help from the members here, who have been much of a help in the past.
Until you throw a double change of unique, then things get exciting in a hurry. Better to use that stuff that uses up a lot of space whatever the number is.

I got to thinking about that too, what would happen if you threw a double charge of a fast burning powder, I figured it wold not be very pretty!! That just points out one of our basic reloading rules, to check every case to be sure there is the correct amount of powder in it!!
