7mm RUM Loads
#1
I just picked up a Remington LSS 7mm RUM at Cabelas used for $650. Not a scratch on it. Have any of you worked up any loads you'd like to share for the 7mm RUM? I'm looking to load for Whitetail, I'm thinking Nosler 140gr. Accubond. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help!!

This fall I hunted with a load of 92.0gr 7828, using 139gr Hornady SST Interbonds, never chrono'd it, but I would guess 3500-3600 fps mv. Grouped unbeliveable in my rifle (700 BDL bone stock), <0.5" @100yds. I took a whitetail buck at 60yds, broke both shoulders and ribs on both sides, bullet stopped just under the far side hide. Bullet retained 80% weight, and looked just like the catalogs show. Might want to give the Interbond a look, if I remember, it was quite a bit cheaper than the Accubond.
Check reloadersnest.com, they have lots of loads and info. Use caution when working up to your load, the 7RUM uses a lot of powder........[:-]
But, it puts the hurt on deer. If you don't like blood trailing, this rifle is the one for you.
Just my $.02.
I am going to load the 154gr Interbond for this fall, Anyone have any experience with the 154gr Interbond or 160gr Accubond in the 7RUM????

A friend of mine owns Remington Model 700 Sendero 7mm RUM. He used this load for elk this year, but we didn't see anything. 175 gr. Nosler Partition using A8700 MIN: 92.7 grs. 2975 f/s MAX: 103.0 grs. 3234 f/s. This load grouped 5/8" three shot group at 100 yds. Get your hands on a "Accurate Reloaders Guide" at 1-800-416-3006 they have some great loads for the 7mm RUM. Good luck.
