Just wondering if anyone uses them and notices any increase in accuracy and if there are any downsides to using them besides the price.

I was using CCI 250 for my 300RUM. Found a load with outstanding groups with Nosler PT. I was consistently getting 1/2 to 3/4 MOA. I thought I would try to improve on it. So I tried 215 Match grades. Load totally changed. And the best groups was around 1 to 1.1" at 100 yards. Quite a disappointment. Maybe I just didn't find the right charge. But it was back to CCI 250 for me.

Federal primers are all I use anymore after experiencing misfires with remington primers and hangfires with CCI. I now buy match grade primers, they may not help but they certainly don't hurt. They're cheap insurance.

BRIMAN,
I have gotten to the point that I use benchrest primers for just about everything. Do they help? My groups are smaller and the velocity extreme spread have gotten smaller. I don't know if the groups are smaller because of improve ballistics, or self confidence helps me relax and shoot better. BUT the groups are SMALLER. Good luck.
