RE: .270 handload ?
My load for my 700 .270 for the Nosler ballistic tip is 55 gr of IMR4350 and CCI Large rifle primer.
This load is max or slightly over depending on what manual you refer to. Back off on this charge by 10% and work up to it. This load consistantly produces 3/4" - 1" groups from my700.

In my M70 Winchester rifle, .270Win., made in 1952, best load: Sierra 130gr SPBT, 49gr IMR4064, Win. Std. Large Rifle primers, Win. cases. Will consistantly print inside 2" at 200yds. Has accounted for a fair number of deer and pronghorn at ranges from 50 yards out to 325 yards.
