They are telling you to just use your regular fl sizer die, and "yes" it will work.
As i said in my last post, it sometimes "doesn't" make the neck "perfect" in thickness all around. This may bother you, or it may not?????
The "tapered expander die" is a spl. die that has a tapered plug in the center of it. It opens up the neck of a case from one cal to the next ect.., in this case, from 30 cal to 8mm. You don't have to have it, i just like it better and always used one when i was going up a cal or two or ????

Thanks to all
And thanks DM...that's the clarification I was looking for...
I'm not new to re-loading but have never had to do anything special for my special round..always loaded the brass that I received already loaded...fired it.. and reloaded it. Worked just fine as it had come right out of my chamber.
Now I have to start with 30/06 brass...either once fired or UNfired. Either way I think I will try it with my 8mm/06 dies as they are. If I have bad results I'll invest in the tapered die.
Thanks again

No, this one's just an 8mm/06, not the improved chamber. I'm not so concerned with the shoulder angle as it is only the standard 8mm/06 loading...just wanted to minimize overworking the neck when going from the fired .308 diameter of the spent 30/06 brass to the necked up .323 size for the 8mm bullets. As said before, Im not new to reloading but have previously only done plain and simple reloads. Even the reloading I'd done in the past for the 8mm/06 was from previously 8mm/06 loaded rounds, thus i was only resizing from the fired .323 to the resized .323
Maybe I'm worrying for nothing.
