Heh!!! sound to me you either eat deer ribs or you are shooting your deer in the shoulder or anywhere the prefered meet is. wether its a BST or any bullet for that matter where ever the bullets hits it bruises the meet and makes it unedible doesnt matter what bullet it is. Before I started reloading I used remington express core lokt 150 grain psp in .308 win, I have downed a total of 9 whitetails with one shot kills from ranges as close as 20 yards out to 300+ yards. So honestly all expanding type bullets will kill a deer in all depends on shot placement ( even a FMJ will, just not legal for hunting). It really doesnt take much to down a deer aslong as the bullet hits a vital organ I've killed whitetails with one shot at ranges 100 yards an under with a 64 grain winchester power point in .223. That little bullet works nicely when the shot is placed properly. Once again its all about shot placement. So just pick a bullet type that your rifle digests accurately. good luck

Everybody else loved the accubonds
Not everybody.Neither of my 300ultramags like the accubonds and both shoot the 180gr ballistic tips into 1/2" or less. For the record,I have taken five elk and two bull moose with the 180gr ballistic tip out of my 300ultramags and only one bullet failed to exit. The one that failed to exit went through the chest and offside shoulder of a bull elk and lodged under the offside hide.I would not worry at all about using these bullets on deer of any size.

check out my "premium Bullets" post. I've been hunting/loading for almost 40 yrs now and have never saw the need for these new fangled premium bullets. The Honady interlocks and Sierra Game Kings worked well for me. My .270 does like the 130 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. And you guys are right, they are devastating on deer. I've also taken deer, antelope and black bear with this bullet from distances of 20 FEET to 375 yds. and most dropped like they were hit on the head with a sledge hammer. I presume the 30 cals in 150 and 180 would do the same.
I think the "premium bullets" are only needed for the bigger and/or nastier critters where greater weight retention and penetration is needed.
A bullet has performed at its optimum when it lodges under the skin on the off side. It has done as much damage as possible. I'd rather see a bullet expand and stay in the animal causing as much hydro shock as possible than have one bore a neat little hole right through.
