RedAllison-You were correct when you said that the 300wby would do " just about" anything that the 300ultramag will do in your last post.In the same way that the 300 ultramag will do " just about" anything that the 30-378 and warbird will do.

RE: Triple Shock-X

Stubs, while its a fine round I' ve yet to see a 300Ultra that pushes a 180 over 3600 a 200 over 3400 or a 220 over 3200. But after I had to forkout almost $200 for 2 boxes of ammo tonight for my Warbird I DID contemplate the $30-$40 a box Ultras with Scirrocos sittin on the shelf and wonder why? :D:D:D

Speed costs... How fast you want to go??? ;)

RE: Triple Shock-X

RedAllison-With a 28" barrel the ultramag will push a 180gr to 3500fps which is just about 100fps slower than the warbird. The 300wby mag with the same length barrel will be about 100 fps slower than the 300ultramag.My point was that the 300wby is not the equivalent of the 300ultramag any more than the 300ultramag is the equivalent of the warbird. The gap between the 300wby and the 300ultramag is comparable the gap between the 300ultramag and the warbird if equal length barrels are used in all three.

' pig I shot the 150Lazerheads yesterday and WOW!!! They did everything I' ve heard they would do. At 100yds they were breakin the vertical/windage line on the 1" grided " ShootNC" targets I had (8" x8" ). Groups consisted of bullets that were touching eachother. I laid one 1" circular " cover" over 4 shots on the ShootNC and it covered all the holes plus the bright chartruese rings around each bullethole.

I then carried the target out to 400yds (Leica rangefinder verified). There was a nagging northeasterly crosswind that varied from 5-10mph but I tried to " read" it best I could and let fly with the best hopes. I could only watch some nearby sagegrass near the target to tell when there was any breeze downrange. The temps were in the lower 60s so there was only a slight amount of mirage present. The loads consistantly shot 3.5" low (2.5" high at 100yds btw). A couple of shots were actually 3" apart but for govt work the widest distance between allshots fired at 400yds were 5.5" -6" (all were 3" -3.5" low and left which would coincide with slight and variable crosswinds at that distance). The last shot was " perfect" in my book as the barrel was cool, the winds were' nt present over the entire range and the hole clipped the bottom of the target border dead on the verticle line of the center target.

In laymans terms all of the rounds would' ve been in the breadbasket of any deer it was pointed at. And even at 400yds the bullet is still doing 2900pfs.

My opinion of the new Lazerheads? AWESOME, superpig GET you some of the triple shocks and I cant wait to let this big mother eat...
