Default Slug reloading

I have ordered some slugs, commander from lightfield, bluforce, and DLG12 from midway. I have ordered some fiocchi 2.75" hulls that are primed already. I ordered a roll crimper.

First, I am not a shotgun loader. I have no MEC loader, etc.

I was told I could just measure out a load and by hand shove the saboted slug in the new hull, put an overshot card on top and roll crimp to 2.75".

I don't plan on reusing the hulls, (as of now, but will keep em). Can someone verify I do not need to run thru a resizer? And tell me if I am missing something? Are these wads real easy to push in?

I've used that very hull in loading 12 Ga steel shotshells, it's a great hull and roll crimps nicely.....it even star crimps quite well too!.....

Yes...no press is necessary. Install the recipe amount of powder and the wad/projectile and crimp.....you don't even need the holding device as it's quite easy to hold in the hand. I use a drill press and hold the hull in my fingers. 150-200 RPM is fine....don't run too fast.....you might lose a couple getting the hang of it but probably not more than one or two.....

An overshot card is required for shot.....use one only if the recipe calls for it. Ballistic Products makes a clear plastic wad that is cute....."see thru"

Sounds like the bluforce (according to handloader mag article) takes a tad bit of force to get in the hull. I hope this pans out, I am out 100 dollars investment.

a couple hulls? or a couple fingers?

BC, I'd be interested in the results. Really would like to use a sabot slug in the RMC Brass hulls.
