I have had three stw's(still own two and probably always will)and find that 7828 is the most accurate powder in all three with h-1000 and r-22 slightly behind.Max loads(from actual testing not manuals)gave me the following velocities with 140 gr bullets.
rifle 1-3420fps
rifle 2-3460fps
rifle 3-3520fps
These rifles are all custom guns with premium 26" barrels.I have seen higher velocities from other guns but the owners loaded hotter than I would as pressure signs were evident on days where the temperatures were in the 80 degree range and brass life was very short(loose primer pockets after two or three loadings). My loads never show pressure signs and brass life is at least five or six loadings usually more.

soarkrebel-Noise won't be a problem after some more shooting of a muzzlebraked gun without ear plugs. You won't have enough hearing left to be bothered.

DG- what rifle do you have and what does it weigh? My own customs have mcmillan stocks with decellerator pads and weight about 9lbs with scope.I don't find recoil to be any problem at all.

stubblejumper, you speak the truth. i carry plugs with me . my left ear allready has a loss of hearing. due to guns and turbine engines. working around helicopters didnt help either. but i'll keep the muzzled gun. i do like it.
