Zrexpilot, throw the nay sayers into a total tizzy by showing some photos of big hogs that you bang flopped using a .22 Hornet.

Never mind. You aren't worth it. You will be banned again soon enough.

Maybe the mods will get it right this time and keep you out of here for good.

id rather have zrex's H&R than any POS ruger M77. the M77 is the epitome of a cheaply manufactured rifle.. cast receiver ... hammer forged barrel..... basically a domestically manufactured interarms Mark X and you have the nerve to nock on a savage. a savage is twice the rifle a M77 is ....

Dude do you think I think the H&R is a blazer, WTF dude its a fn H&R I know that. This gun has printed a 3/8" group with 50gr nosler BT handloads. I could care less if it was a galvanised pipe screwed to a 2x4, if it prints that good its a keeper.

Rather than all of the ranting and raving among the posts, to answer your question, simply go to a tougher bullet.

The SGK has a history of explosive performance and jacket separation...though it is a very accurate bullet...

I have found that Ballistic Silvertips are exceptionally accurate and have performed beautifully from my 7mmRM at 3100 ft/s with shoulder shots.

I have also found Nosler Partitions to be very accurate through both my 7mmRM and my 270 and are amazing performers (the nose will explosively mushroom while the shank drives all the way through). These really are designed for larger game than whitetail deer, but they absolutely work.

Winchester-CT's Accubond and Remington's Scirocco bullets are also highly accurate and much tougher than the SGK.

I dislike the solid copper bullets (Failsafe, Barnes X, TSX) because while they do penetrate exceptionally, they just do not open up enough for me.
