Default Bad Powder

I posted on an previous thread about some old IMR 4831 I have. Now I am worried. I read in another forum that powder is bad if it has dark brown dust in it. My old tin of 4831 has like an orange dust in it. I thought this may be normal cuz the old tin is orange and I know different powders come in different colors and smells and they asll have a little dust. Should I continue to use this powder?

If you have already been using it and it has been stored properly I don't see a problem with it . If it was just some powder you acquired somewhere I would not use it .

It is a tin I aquired but I was the one that originally opened it. I thought the orange dust was odd. I have gone through 3/4 of the tin so far with no troubles but it only take one so, fertalizer it is.

IF the container has a lot of orange dust in it, I would tend to be suspicious of the powder......

If the powder has been shaken around or something like that would it burn differently than if it was of a uniform size ???

ie would the "dust" change the burn rate to cause high pressures compared to uniform sized powder.
