In one of my correspondences with Jack O'Connor, he said that he used 62 grains of Hodgdon 4831 under a 130 gr. Speer in Winchester cases. I had problems getting that much comfortably in the case, so I settled on 60 grains (still a compressed load) with a 130. I often use that load now--more than 40 years later. It has been very accurate in all of my .270's, and kills deer like lightning.

In my .270 I use 53.5gr of IMR 4350 with a Accubond 130 bullet. This rifle shoots better than I can with this load. Normally 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 100yds.
