Default 22-250 bullet

I just received my Encore 22-250 barrel, 26" heavy stainless, and can' t wait to start shooting it. I will be hunting ground hog and coyote. I' m looking for a very accurate bullet that will do minimal damage to the coyote pelt, yet has good expansion characteristics. What do some of you recommend?

I don' t varmint hunt but if you want expansion without explosive characteristics for less pelt damage the best bet would probably the Barnes 50 grain XBT or the 53 grain XLCBT. Not the XLC varmint bullet as it is a copper jacket and lead core and is designed to " blow up."

I' d try one of the extremely fragile bullets that " come apart" immediately.....like the Sierra Blitz, the Hornady SX or Speer' s TNT.

They come with warnings about too much velocity, but you CAN shoot them in a 1-14 twist .22-250
