Everything is tight at the big retailers right now. Your best bet is to try a small gunshop in a SMALL town. I stoped in a tiny gunshop in a small town (Pop ~500) near a boat launch I use, to check out inventory. All of the .22shells and popular caliber amunition you wanted, as well as primers for LR, SR, LP, SP, 209 and #11 caps.Luckily I stocked up on primers before all of this hit when I ran into a great deal on NOS ($15 per 1000), I layed RemingtonKleenbore (remeber those? NOS)LR primers deep enough that I wont have to buy any for the next couple decades.

Stopped by a local gunstore to check for primers.... 4.79/100 for CCI's. I just said NO thanks! They had RL-19 for 31 a pound as well. Stopped by a Wal Mart later that evening that had 8 pounds of IMR 4350 on the shelf as well as 3 pounds of Varget. I bought 2 of each. Im pretty well set on powder. Primers will be what I run out of first.
Ive had my fill of Mom and Pop laying the gouge during this shortage. I will never spend another dollar at that store. Ive gotten just about any kind of powder I wanted from Wal Mart for the usual 21-23 per pound. Darn shame they dont have primers.

I haven't seen any small rifle primers, varget, rl-15, blc-2, or IMR 4064 in over 6 months in my area. A friend of mine who is a lot more aggressive than me and who calls local gun shops regularly was able to score 200 large rifle primers a few weeks ago (they had a per customer limit). Things are pretty pathetic these days.

WalMarts are odd as to what they carry. It seems to be based on the habits of the local residents. Our local WalMart here in SW PA carries guns and ammo only. The one I mentioned in a previous post in Clearfield, PA. near our camp in the North Central mountains not only carries guns and ammo, but also has a fairly good supply of reloading equipment including dies, presses, powder scales, bullets, and powder. That's where I scored 2 lb. of IMR 4350 about 3-4 wks. ago. Strange..............
