Default How many phone books do I need?

I wanted to shoot a round into some phone books.

How many inches do I need do you think?

.340 Wby. 275gr Swift A frames

Also should they be dry or wet? any difference?

I read 1 report of 7.5" with swift aframes, didn't know the cartridge though.

I plan to have 15" + but not sure if I need 20" 30" 50" or what....and how big of a difference wet vs. dry would make?

You'll see a lot more penetration on wet books compared to dry

I'll bet you get about 8-12" on dry books and maybe 50% more w/ wet.

I'll GUESS, at least 30" with that bullet/cartridge... Do you just want to see what an expanded Swiftbullet looks like? Cuz, unless your going hunting for phone books, shooting them isn't going to tell you much...

I have heard that shooting though wet paper is a decent comparison for penetration and to verify how a bullet holds up.

It's a good comparison to a "no bone" shot in my opinion.

Dry paper is one of the toughest tests of a bullet. If a bullet survives at least somewhat intact it'll usually hold up to large bone without a hitch.
