Ridge Runner: What is the parent case on an Allen Mag?
I have heard of people shooting a fireforming load that is more accurate than the loads developed afterwards. This is with bullets of course, never seen a good group with cornmeal.

8mm/06:
You can neck-up in one step. I neck-up Remington .300 Wby. Mag. brass to .340 Wby. Mag. brass in one step. When I go from .300 Wby. Mag. to .340 (.338)Wby. Mag., my cases are always within spec. or just under spec. never over.
Measure all your cases to see if they are in spec. They will probably be at both ends of the specification. If they are not overspec, I would fireform them and then trim. If they are over spec. like RidgeRunner posted you will have to trim to spec. If they are just (.005) under spec. fire form them, so the case can flow towards the mouth. Now you can trim them all the same size now that the case is longer. Good luck.

Thanks again.....
I'm taking notes and gonna go slow till i find the best process.
I've got 100 shiny new 30/06 cases and TONS of one-time fired 30/06 to boot.....I'm gonna load up some once fired stuff by full lenght resizing in the 8mm/06 die and then trim to spec, load away and see my results.
I'm looking forward to getting this gun into the woods.
