Hornady SSt question.....
Was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have tried the Hornady SST bullets in their 30-06? Was considering the SST, or the "interlock", was wanting some input from others. Gonna load the 165 grain. Thanks

RE: Hornady SSt question.....
I've loaded the 165 gr SST's with 47.9 gr of IMR 4064 (Sierra's accuracy load from the current manual at the time) and got excellent accuracy 1" groups. The interlok is basically the same bullet without the polymer tip. I have had some great results using Hornady bullets in the past in several sizes and weights from 22 up to 35 cal. Some of the best prices out there too.

RE: Hornady SSt question.....
I loaded some last year and used them to bag a 165" whitetail and a cow elk,
both under 150 yards. I was NOT impressed. After years of shooting partitions or RN bullets and knocking them in the dirt. These bullets didn't work at the speed I was pushing them out of my 308. On both occassions was a nice tracking job. I would deffinitly try for the center of the shoulder and not try to conserve the meat when running the SST.
