I've loaded for rifles, but not for pistol yet. I'm looking at the lee dies and was wondering if I need to get the 3 die set or the 4 die set? My gun is a taurus 24/7 semi auto. All advice is appreciated.

Use a taper crimp, not a roll crimp, to fend feed issues........

I usually hate Lee dies, but I love thier lee factory crimp die. I was having so much trouble loading a 357sig that wouldn't shove the bullet back in the case. And lee's factory crimp was the only one that would crimp it good enough to hold the bullet. 357sig is a flawed round in the first place but thats a different story.

I do like lee's 4-piece deluxe set with the factory crimp die. I use the factory crimp die for all semi auto pistol now. I still use the roll crimp built into carbide dies for revolver.

Sooo, if I get the 4 die set for the factory crimp, is that the only one I'll need for bullet seating, or do I have to use 2 dies when seating? In other words, is a 4 die set just the 3 die set with a factory crimp die added, and if that is the case then will their be the same number of steps in the loading process either way??

Yep, the 4 die is just the regular 3 with the crimp die added. I just really like the crimp die. I like the crimp die because I use a progressive for pistol. And the progressive does not always crimp well, so I just seat the bullet and crimp on the single stage.

It is an extra step.

I bought the carbideRCBS 3 die set, and added the the Redding taper crimp later onas I was having feed issuesseating andcrimping with the RCBS seater.

I do it like big country with the extra step, no feed issues anymore..........

Get the Lee 4 die set, the money you save you can buy yourself a box of bullets and maybe a pound of powder.
