I have been doing some reloading with a friend and I am wanting to get my own kit. He uses RCBS Rock Chucker.
Most posts for new reloaders recommend the Lyman' s Reloading Manual but I haven' t heard anything about their reloading equipment. Has anybody had any experience with Lyman products?
Cabelas is selling their Lyman T-Mag II Expert Kit which also come with one set of dies for $245.
It sounds like a good deal because if I get the RCBS I will have to buy dies to go with it, but if the Lyman stuff is junk I would rather spend a little extra and get the RCBS.
Thanks for all willingness to help us newbies to reloading!!!!!

Lyman is a reputable company and you can have confidence in them.
I personally recommend a beginner get a RCBS starter kit and build from there.
In my experience, the best reloading manual is Hornady but it only states data for their bullets. Hodgen' s data manual is also excellent and there' s free data from IMR and alliant on the internet.

I would go with a RCBS RC Supreme Reloading Kit (item #xp-21-4924) for $259.99 + S&H from www.cabelas.com . Good luck.

Hey 7x7 I am in the same boat as you ( well almost as I already reload and am upgrading my press... see new press on this forum) I couldn' t deside between the major brands and asked for some advice and RCBS so far is the winner. That said I think Lyman makes good products too so either of the 2 companies wont be a bad choice. Check out

I' ll be ordering my new stuff from there.

I think you misread something !The dies would be over $300 ? [:@] But,the Lyman equipment is just fine.
