How to Square Carbide and Comp dies?
#1
I have always squared my conventional dies by placing a machined washer between the shell holder and die body applying a little bit of pressure to bottem of die and lowering the lock ring and locking it into place..
Apparently thismethod not recomended on carbide dies (WHICHI HAVE DONE [
]) or competition (which I have yet to do)
So how do you go about squaring these things or do you.

Well, you don't want to cam over on the carbide dies is the only thing. Sounds like you are doing it correctly to me. Just use a washer big enough so you don't cam over. I had one machined that is 1/2" thick. You really don't want to cam over on the conventional steel dies either. Just a little pressure with the ram raised.

You don't want to do that with carbide. It can shatter or crack.
