Default stainless brush

What are all your thoughts on stainless steel brushes rifle barrels to remove copper fouling. I wasn't sure if these brushes would damage the barrel? Thoughts?

Stick to bronze. They are to hard and will damage your bore[:'(]. If you don't believe me check barrel maker sites like; Lilja, Hart, etcthey will say NO to SS as well.

I have never had any use for a brush at all. Except when lapping a barrel. A good solvent and jag are all you need. Tom.

Thoughts?
My thought is NEVER USE A STEEL BRUSH IN A RIFLE BORE. There are much less damagingways of removing all the copper fouling that you need to get out of the bore!

I won't even use steel brushes in my shotgun's. for powder residue I use bronze, when brushing for copper I use a nylon brush.

I have always relied on elbow grease and agressive solvents to remove copper fouling. Chemically removing copper is the way to go when done correctly as you are introducing anything as hard as steel into the bore. I also use only Dewey coated rods and bore guides. Things have even gotten easieras I started using Wipeout foaming bore cleaner, it does aid in quicker cleaning.
