RE: Favorite Bullet Manufacturer
I like the Hornady #3033 its a softpoint boattail in 308 at 2500 and hundred yrds it leaves a softball sized hole in the off ribs and a silver dollar skin wound . It works very well in my 2 groove 1903-A3 06' , Sav. 110s in 06'and 308 and in my 760 06' .

I don't have 1 magic bullet as I want different things from a deer bullet then I do from a larger game bullet for use on elk or moose. I have tried to find one but stillprefer aexpansion/high BCbullet for thin skinned animals (deer sized) -Nosler ballistic Tipand a controlled expansion/penetration bullet for moose and elk - Barnes TSX.
However if I had to pick only onebullet forantelope to mooseit would have to be the Nosler Partition. Why don't I shoot it now, I simply have become accustom to how well my rifle shoots the others in comparison to the Part. It gives me an edge in confidence and I take any edgeI can when it comes to hunting. BTW it is my bullet choice in my backup rifle, which shoots them

One big game bullet - 180 gr. Sierra BTSP .308" launched at 3000 fps from my .300 Win Mag Sendero. Will do it all in the CONUS.
One varmint bullet - no such thing but a 39 gr. Sierra .204" at 3800 fpsis pretty close.

For a good all round bullet, I love the Hornady''s. Weatherby factory loads them in their hyper magnums, and that was always a good enough recomendation for me to try them. I have never had one fail on deer, elk, moose or bear. Dunno about the gophers, though, because I never found the bullet after the hit! My 25 06 prefers the Hornadys over all of the rest.I use an awful pile of the Speer bullets, and like the way that they hold together at 3400 fps. The accuracy is outstanding. I have shot elk with the old Winchester 130 grain silvertip, loaded to 3500 fps, and they also performed flawlessly. I recovered one out of an elk, and it's weight was 94 grains. It expanded beautifully. Usually it was a complete pass through, so it was a real bonus to find one. I load the nosler partitions, and love them too. The only bullet that I do have issues with, is the Nosler ballistic tip. I have found it to be too fragile at the speeds that I send them to a target. They are one of the most accurate that I have loaded and shot, but they explode on deer sized game. I have never recovered a grand slam, but have always recovered whatever they hit. You will have to experiment with various bullet weights and manufacturers to determine which one that your toys like. YOU might like the particular bullet, but your toy might not. Good luck and have fun.

I don't have a favorite across the board. I shoot Noslers, Hornadys, Sierras,Remington, Winchester, Barnesand Speers. It all depends on what my rifle or handgun likes and it the bullet capable of the job intended.
Some of what I use for some of my rifles are:
Browning 7-08; 139 gr Hornady Interlocks
Savage 7-08; Winchester 150 gr SP
Savage 30-06; Sierra 180 gr SPBT or Barnes 180 TSX
Remington 270; Nosler 130 gr Ballistic Tip
Browning 325WSM; Nosler 200 gr Accubond or Sierra 220 gr SP

I like Nosler, Hornady, Remington, and Speer. It seem that for different cartridgesthere aredifferent bullets that work best.
Just a few:
35 Rem 200gr Core Lokt RN and both Speer 180/220gr bullets.
358 Win 200gr Spire point, and 225gr Partition.
35 Whelen 200gr Pt Core Lokt, 225gr and 250gr Partitons.
270 Win 140gr Accu-Bond, and 150gr Partition or Spire Point.
The bold bullets just define that cartridge but with the Whelen and 358win I like useing 200gr to 250gr bullets Taylored to the game at hand.

Maybe to better answer that question I realy respect the plain old CoreLokt bullets pointed or round nosed they simply work great. And the Partitions still second to non for premium bullets and better than most of em too. This is for all round bullets not special purpose bullets.
