Default neck sizing question

I have never used a neck sizer die, but picked one up in some horse trading recently. Out of curiosity can a 30-06 neck sizer be used on the 308 win? Or is the neck sizing die full length? When does one neck size? and what are the advantages? Thanks

I don't think so, the 30.06 Sprg. case is about .479" longer than the .308 Win. case. It will be easer to buy the right die for the right case or job.

When one uses a neck sizing die he only sizes the neck.

When a case has been fire formed in a specific chamber, that fire formed case can be neck sized. A case that has been neck sized can only be fired in that specific chamber.

One neck sizes for accuracy and case life. Good luck
