Default what bullet????

I have a savage 110E in 223 , anyone know the twist? I"m about to work up a load for praire dogs and would like to know if anyone knows this gun ,and what bullet it might like. I'm thinking 40 gr bullet ? thanks John G.

Put a patch on a rod and measure it! Mark it and pull till it goes one revolution.Possible 1/9,thats pretty common anymore and the 40 grains will do great! Any Sierra or the V-Max bullets will shoot,load up some 55 grain and try them to! I'm looking for some more brass also!

If your rifle is new it should be a 1/9" twist, if it is older they were a 1/12". I have the stevens 200 and it is 1/9" it shoots the 40 gr. pretty well.
