Yes works well enough, when loading pistol it really helps to have the auto index so that all you need do is add case and bullet and pull the lever 4 times for a loaded round.When loading rifle cases I remove the auto index bar. I have however since upgraded to a Lyman TMag 2 press, much stronger.

Depends on which turret press you are talking about.
The old Lee turret is pretty much meant for pistol reloading or small rifle cartridges only. The new Cast turret press can load anything. A friend of mine has one and regularly loads 30-06 on it with no problems whatsoever.
They look pretty darn slick and I can't wait to get one.
