Default Hornady vs. Dillon

I am looking for a new press. I am debating between the Hornady:
https://www.hornady.com/shop/?ps_session=ef9ccb35cbc1e096a45222df37c390d5&p age=shop%2Fbrowse&category_id=d12e69ab3325862e c67131f0d9a3aa1b

and the Dillon:

I hear that Dillon has outstanding costumer service and warrantiesin case break something but what are other pros and cons? the will be mostly used for .223 reloading but there will also be some 7mm-08 and some .300 Wby. Mag.
Thanks

Both machines are built very well. The Dillon has more pieces, many of them small and plastic to do the same job as the Hornady.
Both have the same warranty but Dillon REALLY advertises theirs. Hornady offers help with load data as well over the phone.
The Hornady is priced less. Caliber changes will be cheeper with the Hornady.

Hornady has a better powder measure.

The machines do differ some as far as where the brass is loaded, to me the Dillon felt "left handed" so I bought the Hornady. I sugest you try both before buying.

Here is some reading on the subject.

The last paragraph sums things up nicely.

I have a Dillion RL550 (bought in the early 90's) anduse it for pistol and .223 that I put through my AR. As far as loading for my hunting rifles I still want to weigh each load so I use my single stage. I know the powder measure is suppose to be accurate, butI still dont trust its constistency round after round.

As far as Dillion's customer service, it is second to none.

KU, I've had DIllon's since maybe 1981-82, and although I don't get to test their "No BS Warranty" very often, it is exactly as they state it is. My first machine was an RL450 that was purchased slightly used.2 or 3 years later I got a Square Deal B for Christmass, then I later traded a gun for a newer RL550B in around the mid-90's. Whether I bought them new, or used, it made no matterin effect to their waranty. At given times when I was the clumsey culprit in breaking a given part, Dillon would replace it with a smile and refuse payment. Later, I upgraded my old 450 with the 550 upgrade kit, and within the last month, I called them when my Square Deal "gave up the ghost". A small plastic roller finally flattened on one side rendering the priming mechanism useless. When I called Dillon, they stated that my machine was quite old, and they didn't have the original part for it. They had changed to a brass roller since that time, so the phone tech. sent me a whole new priming system, complete with both large & small primer arms. Once I received it in the mail, I realized that the only difference between the new & old systems, was in fact, that little brass roller, and the technician was just being very gracious in sending me the whole system. You'll find situtations like this to be more the "norm" when it comes to dealing with Dillon. One reason why they are probably the highest rated progressive on the market. My 2.......Take care, Bob
