RE: Hornady vs. Dillon
KU, I've had DIllon's since maybe 1981-82, and although I don't get to test their "No BS Warranty" very often, it is exactly as they state it is. My first machine was an RL450 that was purchased slightly used.2 or 3 years later I got a Square Deal B for Christmass, then I later traded a gun for a newer RL550B in around the mid-90's. Whether I bought them new, or used, it made no matterin effect to their waranty. At given times when I was the clumsey culprit in breaking a given part, Dillon would replace it with a smile and refuse payment. Later, I upgraded my old 450 with the 550 upgrade kit, and within the last month, I called them when my Square Deal "gave up the ghost". A small plastic roller finally flattened on one side rendering the priming mechanism useless. When I called Dillon, they stated that my machine was quite old, and they didn't have the original part for it. They had changed to a brass roller since that time, so the phone tech. sent me a whole new priming system, complete with both large & small primer arms. Once I received it in the mail, I realized that the only difference between the new & old systems, was in fact, that little brass roller, and the technician was just being very gracious in sending me the whole system. You'll find situtations like this to be more the "norm" when it comes to dealing with Dillon. One reason why they are probably the highest rated progressive on the market. My 2.......Take care, Bob
