I was depriming and resizing some casings this afternoon and got one stuck in my resizing die. It pulled out of my No 3 shell holder. I've tried everything I can thing of and can't get it out. I have the base of the casing messed up so much I can hardly get a hold of it. Any ideas on what I might try??? I may call RCBS tomorrow to see what they have to say. I am using an RCBS press and dies.
Merry Christmas.

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but youre probably gonna need a new die. With a stuck casing its 50-50 whether you can save your die. What did you do wrong in your lube process???

Bite the bullet and buy the Stuck Case Remover that RCBS sells. It is about the only way to get it out, and it gives you a decent chance at saving your die. Tom.

i have has afew cases stuck in my dies.i drill a hole in the primer hole, threadthe hole, puta bushing of some kindon theend of the die, screw a bolt in and it comes out easily. Thebushing needs to be smaller than the end of the die body and larger than the cartridge case.A socket works well.

Since you've got the base of the casing all buggered up, I'm not sure if the standard case remover tool will work. I just looked at mine, and as described before, you need to drill a hole in the base of the casing at the primer pocket and tap it, then use the extractor tool. You may have to take it to a 'smith. The onlt other alternative I can think of is to turn a tap or easy-out CAREFULLY into the brass, making sure you don't cut through it, and use it with vise grips on the end and gently tap with a hammer with die snugged lightly in a vise. Be careful not to mar anything. Also, be sure to lube properly from now on.

Look at the RCBS stuck case remover on line. You get a drill, an allen head bolt, a tap and Allen wrench anda bushing. Done this stuff several times with tools on hand. It is not rocket science.

Heck,
You can remove the decapping pin from a RCBS die, and wack the dude out with a punch and rubber malletmost times. Now for really stuck cases you will need to follow the prior instructions of tapping the primer pocket etc. The Die is far from ruined! Overcome, Adapt, Improvise, & Pursurvior! Stuck case just happen sometimes.
