I have only ever witnessed oneREALLY stuck case, and it was in an rcbs die. my friend had to send it back to RCBS and they told him it wasnt salvagable and they sent him a new die. most of the other times a little fiddling will get it out. When he said he buggered up the casing thats why I thought it was pretty much ruined.

Ridge runner has it right. I take out the decapper and knock it out. Can be difficult to remove the decapper.

Success at last. I turned the die upside down and put it in the press like suggested. I didn't have a tap so I used a self tapping screw and screwed it into the base of the casing and with a washer under it started tightening it andthe casingpopped loose. Thanks for all the excellent replies and information. I put the die back in the press and lubed some cases and resized them and they look good. No scratches or other deformation so I assume the die is okay. Again thanks for the help.

Good to hear you got it out.
Another thing that helps is to stick the die in freezer for a few hours before trying to pull the stuck brass.
