Reloading cast bullets in .44 Magnum question.
#11
Well I shot off 35 rounds of the cast bullet reloads. Man, they shot very well, grouping at 1.25 inches at 50 yards with 5 shots, three off them being within .5 inch. That is pretty much as well as I can shoot with open sights. The only problem with these bullets that I can see is that they are very dirty, making the barrel very dirty in a hurry. I didnt have any accuracy problems per say with them, actually I was very impressed. Anyways, thank you for your suggestions and help on this matter. I am thinking now that just because the lube groove isnt full that it isnt a big deal as long as the bullet itself has some lube on it to make reloading easier and tighter. I will tell you what though, these .44 cast bullets make a helluva hole in whatever it hits lol. I wouldnt be one bit afraid to take a shot at a deer with these at up to 100 yards. At 100 yards the groups opened way up but that was mostly due to me not being able to stay focused on the bulls at that distance with the open sights.
