.300wsm short barrel
i am looking at putting together a compact hunting rifle setup, i want to use a thompson center arms encore with a 15" fluted and ported .300WSM barrel, and i know this is going to cause problems and inefficiencies with burning powder, and i was wondering if any reloaders here might know of a solution to get a better, more reliable burn on the 300wsm in such a short setup? and what would give me the most power out of it? as well as what bullet weight would get me the most out of the short barrel rig. i do know a bit about reloading, just not this in depth about it, could anyone help?

RE: .300wsm short barrel
I have not been able to find anyone who will chamber the short mag's in an Encore. Is a 15 inch barrel considered legal in a rifle? I believe I read once that the shorter the barrel, the heavier the bullet you want to use. I believe it has something to do with length of time bullet is in barrel. I believe the article also suggested using a faster burn rate powder. I have not done this, but I am considering doing it in a 30-06. I hope some other people chime in. Tom.
