Default 30/30 loads for TC Contender

Does any body use a 30/30 TC Contender?

Im thinking about starting to reload for it. Thinking about using lighter bullets than what Im using now. How light do 30/30's go?

Does your gun have the 14 inch barrel? If you have the ten inch barrel trade it for the longer tube. I presently use 150 grain Speer flat noses on top of a max charge of 3031. I used the 130 Hornady soft point and the Speer hollow point also for many years when I lived in Wyoming. These I used IMR 4198 behind and the Hornady bullet had a real tendency to tumble fired from my 1 in 14 inch twist barrel but it still was a quick killer of mule deer. If you like muzzle blast try H335.

I have the 14" ported Hunter and use a max load of 3031 under a 150 gr pointed Ballistic Tip . with my 2 x Leupold and bags all shots touch at 100 yds.
Hit a whitetail with it under 150 yds and you'd better have a buddy along to help drag!
18 shots = 18 whitetails for me
