Default .450 marlin loads

I have a .450 Marlin and I'm thinking about reloading for it. Does anybody have a load that is close to the factory Hornady loads. The factory loads shoot really good in the gun but it would be cheaper to reload for it.

i shoot & r/l the Marlin in .45-70. Is there any difference-besides chambering-between the 450 & 45-70? Like, does the 450 have any forged (stronger)parts that the 45-70 doesn't? Anyone know?

There are no structural differences between the guns-the .45/70 version will handle the same pressure levels as the .450 version. BUT, there is a difference in the case capacities of the two different rounds, thus the reloading data is a little different too......

The marlin 45-70 loads are kept down to 28000 cup where the 450 Marlin are loaded to 42000 cup. As stated above the rifles are of the same strength and handloaders can take advantage of the stronger rifle. The 45-70 loads from the factort must be kept down 18000 cup or less to respect the old trapdoor springfields strength. The 450 arli, I think has a Belted case to prevent being chambered in a 45-70.

Factory ammo is made by Hornady and one would be advised to buy Hornady's loading manual as they offer the same bullets to you for reloading as used in the factory loads.
